Status Service Restored MO1074435 Details Title: Users in Europe, Middle East, and Africa may be unable to access some M365 sites User impact: Users in Europe, Middle East, and Africa may have been unable to access some M365 sites. More info: Users may have seen 'An error (500 Internal Server Error) has occurred in response to this request.' when accessing some sites. Impacted sites included, but were not limited to: - https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365 - https://outlook.com - https://outlook.live.com - https://www.hotmail.com And related regional top-level domains sites, e.g. .co.uk, .nl, .fr As a potential short-term workaround, affected users may have been able to access sites using the following URLs: For the general M365 page - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365 For Outlook - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/outlook Final status: We've completed deployment of the fix to correct the code regression and confirmed through internal testing that the impact is remediated. Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users who are based in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions attempting to access some M365 sites. Start time: Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:30 PM UTC End time: Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 3:15 PM UTC Root cause: A recent feature update, intended to introduce new service logic, contained a code regression that caused site rendering to fail and display a 500 error. Next steps: - We're reviewing our feature update testing and validation procedures to identify and prevent similar code regressions in deployments moving forward.
