O365 - Email/Outlook
2024-11-25 Status Description
09:48 AM Disruption EXCHANGE NOTICE
Some users can't send or receive email messages within Outlook for Mac
Service Degradation

More info: Impact is specific to users leveraging the new Outlook for Mac client version who have session-based, strict location conditional access evaluation policies applied.
This issue potentially affects those who installed Current Channel (Preview) builds starting from 16.91.24110320 and Current Channel builds starting from 16.91.24111020 who have enforced continuous access evaluation (CAE) policies.
The fix is slated for deployment in the next 16.92.* builds, slated to deploy to Preview on December 3, 2024 and then to Current Channel on December 10, 2024.
Users who have CAE enforced through their tenant should refrain from upgrading to the above 16.91.* builds and wait for 16.92 rollout which will have the fix.
For users already in these builds hitting this issue and that can opt in to the Beta Channel, the latest Beta build already has the fix. Please follow the instructions on the following link to get to Beta channel:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/microsoft365insiderblog/join-the-microsoft-365-insider-program-on-macos/4206727
For those who are unable to leverage the Beta Channel build, users can restart Outlook to get back to a syncing state. However, the issue might reoccur after few hours into session.
Users can also install the 16.90.24110120 build from the previous month to avoid this issue. However, this may cause a resync of Outlook when launching for the first time.
Current status: The service provider is preparing their fix to begin deployment for all affected users by Tuesday, December 10, 2024. For those who require immediate remediation prior to the standard deployment schedule, the fix is also available in the latest beta build. Those who have access to the M365 Insider program on macOS can follow the instructions provided in the More info section of this communications update to install the Beta Channel and leverage the latest macOS build for resolution. The service provider is reaching out to a group of affected users to install the beta build and validate that the issue is resolved as well.
Scope of impact: This issue only affects users that are leveraging the new Outlook for Mac client who have session-based, strict location conditional access evaluation policies applied.

Some users' searches may fail and provide no results in the Outlook desktop client and Outlook on the web
Service Degradation

Current status: The service provider has isolated a service memory issue that may be intermittently preventing users' searches and providing no results for users in Outlook desktop and Outlook on the web. They've identified an error condition within the service, and they're improving their service monitoring system to recover from this error condition automatically. They're requesting that admins raise a new support escalation, if their users encounter this issue, so they can confirm that the problem is associated. In parallel, they're developing a code fix to address the isolated memory issue and to remediate the impact.
Scope of impact: Some users attempting to perform searches in the Outlook desktop client and Outlook on the web may be intermittently impacted.
