Some users may intermittently be unable to access their mailboxes from multiple connection methods in Exchange Online
Service Restored

- Outlook on the web
- Representational State Transfer (REST)
- Messaging API (MAPI)
- Exchange ActiveSync (EAS)

Final status: The service provider has validated that the suspected recent change resulted in the impact to the functionality of the portion of Exchange Online infrastructure responsible for processing users' mailbox access requests. This recent code change was intended to rebalance the request load of the impacted infrastructure, but due to an error in the update it instead exacerbated the issue. After completing a reversion of the change they monitored in the service health telemetry that their actions alleviated impact as expected.
Scope of impact: This issue may have intermittently affected some users in Canada attempting to access their mailboxes through any of the impacted connection methods.
